Mobile pet care for cats, rodents, rabbits and other small animals in the Nienburg district

iI am Karena, a ZFU-certified trained animal psychologist, behavior therapist and husbandry consultant for cats, dogs, horses, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, degus, rats and chinchillas.

I offered a mobile pet sitting service in Hanover for several years, which was very popular. In that capacity, I cared for many cats, as well as rabbits, birds, and guinea pigs. I also worked as a dog walker.

I had paused these services since 2021. Now I am offering mobile pet care and dog walking services again, specifically in the Nienburg district.

Services:

I offer mobile pet care for your cats, rodents, rabbits, birds, and other animals (no dogs) by appointment. This means I come to your home and care for your pets with lots of love in their familiar surroundings. Please note that I do not accept animals for care at my home. I only offer mobile pet care.

How does it all work? First, we'll schedule an appointment where I can meet your pets and, of course, you, and discuss the contract documents with you. At this appointment, you'll show me everything relevant to the pet care, such as the location of the litter boxes, the food, and where the vaccination records are kept. This appointment costs €20 plus €1.60 per kilometer traveled. The price includes 19% VAT. The initial consultation can last from 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of pets and what needs to be discussed. You can deduct part of the invoice as a household-related service from your taxes.

I will come either once or twice a day and care for your animals to the extent booked, depending on what we have agreed upon in the contract.

I will feed your animals, clean the litter boxes and enclosures for an extra charge, and I will keep your sweeties occupied, entertained and cuddled, if desired.

I can also empty your mailboxes and place you in a designated spot, and water your plants for an additional fee and effort.

I'm happy to send you daily pictures or short videos of your sweet four-legged friends so you can enjoy your vacation or other time away with peace of mind, knowing that everything is alright. This service has always been very well received.

Food, litter and everything else necessary for the care must be available for the entire period.

Since I cannot adhere to precise schedules, I cannot care for animals whose lives depend on medication being administered repeatedly at exact times. Animals with contagious diseases are excluded from care. Please see "Important" below for further information. Before each care session, I require a health certificate from the treating veterinarian confirming that the animals are free from contagious diseases, fungal infections, and parasites (fleas, worms, lice, etc.). A stool sample analyzed by the veterinarian two weeks prior to the session is also required, confirming the absence of Giardia and other parasites. This is for the safety of all animals in my care, and of course, for my own pets.

Important:

I do not care for animals suffering from contagious diseases or parasites. The protection of my own animals, as well as all animals in my care during the care period, is my top priority.

Therefore, please provide complete and truthful information about your animals' health during the initial consultation. Should I discover at the start of the care period that one or more animals are suffering from a contagious disease or are infested with parasites, and this has been concealed from me, the care will be terminated immediately and without exception. Any payments already made will not be refunded in this case.

Should I incur any damages due to intentionally or negligently concealed illnesses or parasites, I expressly reserve the right to claim all resulting costs and damages. This includes, in particular, veterinary costs, treatment costs, disinfection measures, lost earnings, and other demonstrably incurred consequential costs.

If an animal becomes ill during its stay or is found to have parasites, the animal must be immediately taken in or picked up by a previously designated family member or friend, or you will have to cut your vacation short. Further care is not possible to protect all the other animals.

This policy is based on a personal experience: After walking a dog whose owner assured me it was healthy, my two cats became ill and suffered from diarrhea for three months. Because the dog was sick! I will not take that risk again. I therefore ask for your understanding.

I will of course treat your animals with the same care and make sure not to introduce any diseases or parasites into them.

Prices (all prices include the statutory VAT of 19%):

Introductory meeting: lump sum €20 for a 30- to 60-minute session, depending on the scope of the discussion, plus €1.60 per kilometer traveled from Schillerstr., 31618 Liebenau for the round trip. Payment is due 3 days prior to the appointment. This fee is non-refundable and applies even if no support services are arranged after the initial consultation. If support services are arranged for a period of 2 weeks or more, the €20 fee will be credited towards the consultation.

Pet care during holidays, hospital stays, rehabilitation or in case of physical impairment of your small animals:

Weekend and holiday surcharges:

Saturday surcharge: 50% surcharge on the chosen type of care

Sunday and public holiday surcharge: 100% surcharge on the selected type of care

Examples: Selected type of cat: 1x daily 15 minutes: Here, the Saturday surcharge would be €10 for each Saturday of care, the Sunday and public holiday surcharge would be €20 per Sunday/public holiday.

Discounts when booking:

2 weeks in a row: 5%

3 weeks in a row: 15%

Additional services:

Complete litter box cleaning:

Per litter box: €18

Enclosure cleaning:

Depending on the size, between €50 and €150 per cleaning.

Watering flowers: Depending on the effort involved, between €5 and €100 per casting.

Watering the garden with a connected garden hose: 20-€150 depending on the time required

Veterinary visit:

If an animal becomes ill while in care and it cannot wait until you return:

Billing per minute for packing, driving and waiting time, as well as the return trip and unloading) - €1 per minute plus €0.80 per kilometer driven.

Buy more food:

€50 plus the cost of food and €1.60 per kilometer driven.

Buy more litter:

€50 plus the cost of the litter and €1.60 per kilometer driven.

Trimming the claws of guinea pigs and rabbits:

If necessary, and especially if feasible (must be tested during the initial meeting): €3 per animal

Cleaning the food and water bowls:

The agreed care costs will be paid in advance by bank transfer at least 14 days before the start of the service.

Costs incurred if childcare is cancelled:

Should a care arrangement be cancelled up to 4 weeks before the start date: 10% of the original costs.

Up to 14 days before the start of care: 20% of the original costs

Up to 7 days before the start of care: 30% of the original costs

Up to 3 days before the start of care: 50% of the original costs are due, which would have been incurred without the mileage surcharges.

If care is terminated due to the animal's illness: 50% of the costs for the remaining days.

In case of holiday cancellation for any reason: 100% of the remaining days that would have been covered, excluding the €1.20 travel costs per kilometer. from 31618 Liebenau.

If the care arrangements commence despite the animals being ill and the illness not being honestly reported: 100% of the total costs, excluding the €1.20 per kilometer driven. If applicable, full compensation for damages: all resulting veterinary costs incurred by me or the other animals under care.

Dog walking from Monday to Friday around lunchtime or by appointment:

I only walk dogs that are well-behaved on a leash and not aggressive, and only if I am demonstrably covered by your liability insurance. Furthermore, I only walk healthy dogs, as the risk of infecting other animals in my care, as well as my own, is too high. During one of the 30-60 minute walks, I am happy to include play breaks if your dogs enjoy fetching or similar activities.

We'll start with a get-to-know-you walk with your dog. After all, the chemistry between your dogs and me has to be right :)

This costs €20 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled for the round trip. from 31618 Liebenau.

All costs include 19% VAT. The fee for the initial consultation is payable in advance, at least 5 days prior, via bank transfer. The walk can last between 1.5 and 30 hours, including the contract discussion and clarification of where I can find everything in the house or apartment (leashes, collars, poop bags, water bowl, etc.).

1 dog:

10 minutes: €10 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled (round trip).

30 minutes: €27 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled (round trip).

60 minutes: €50 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled (round trip).

Afterwards, I can gladly give your dog the food you have prepared.

2 dogs:

10 minutes: €15 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled (round trip).

30 minutes: €38 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled (round trip).

60 minutes: €70 plus €1.20 per kilometer travelled (round trip).

Afterwards, I can gladly give your dog the food you have prepared.

Attention! If you know someone who also needs a dog walker in your immediate vicinity and your dogs get along, I can offer a combined dog walking contract and split the cost into two invoices. For example, for one hour: €35 per person/dog instead of €50 per dog individually. Each additional dog costs only €8 more, depending on the desired duration. However, this is only possible if I can walk all three dogs together at the same time. I walk a maximum of three dogs. If the dogs are large breeds, I do not offer walks with multiple dogs simultaneously, or a trial walk would be necessary. I can only offer this service if I am confident and able to safely walk three large dogs together.

Weekend and holiday surcharges:

Sunday and public holiday surcharge: 100% surcharge on the chosen dog walking type

I offer a discount for daily and monthly dog walking bookings. We would need to discuss this further.
